My neighbor John Brainard is a fine guitar player and an avid fisherman. For his jazzy style of play we chose curly maple, re-sawn from a board I got in New England back in the 1970’s. The body has a deep cutaway, allowing access to all 24 frets.
John likes to fish from his little green Peapod, outfitted with a sail. The headstock inlay shows him setting his subsistence net for salmon. The inlay is made of stained glass, shell and wood.
The fingerboard position markers depict some of John’s favorite fish.
